Mayor Gavin Buckley decisively won a second term and Democrats have won all eight city council districts in a historic election that serves as a referendum of Buckley’s first term and a hint of voters’ attitudes moving into 2022.
Nineteen Democrats have filed for the House of Delegates seat left vacant by Alice Cain, who resigned unexpectedly in mid-March. The Democratic Central Committee will select one name on April 16 to send to the governor for formal appointment.
